Sinus Headache SymptomsHeadaches cause nothing but misery.One suffering from this type headaches would feel blunt aches or even continuous agonizing pain. Some would even feel pressure on the forehead. Sinus headaches and migraines are difficult to tell apart as both these headaches cause facial pain. To tell sinus headaches and migraines apart, you’d have to first know the symptoms which come along with these headaches. There are some sinus headache symptoms that we will discuss it here. Physically, sinuses are sacks packed with air which could be found behind the bridge of your nose, in your forehead and cheekbones. This headache could be caused by blocked sinus channels, allergies, mucus in your obstructed sinus or sinus infections. Blocked sinus channels are often referred to as sinusitis. Serious sinus headache symptoms can be easily identified. 1. One of the most common sinus headache symptoms is fever, which are normally accompanied by greenish or bloody nasal discharge, fatigue and fullness feeling in your ears. 2. A person suffering from sinus headache would suffer from sensitive skin and sensitive bones under and over the eyes. 3. If you are suffering from sinus headache, you would normally experience facial sensitivity as well. 4. Pressure and pain felt around the cheeks, forehead and peri-orbital region are normally identified as some of the sinus headache symptoms. 5. If your headache becomes worse when you bend down, it is very likely that you’re suffering from sinus headache. 6. Sinus headache symptoms would become worse when you lie down. This explains why you would feel an extreme headache when you get up from your sleep in the morning. 7. If you’re suffering from a severe sinusitis, such sinus headache symptoms would include dizziness. 8. Whenever there is a sudden change in the surrounding temperature, your headache would become worse and this is also one of the symptoms of barometric pressure headache. 9. Sinus headaches could cause the pain to spread up to the back of your head, ears and eyes. At times, you’d experience toothache. 10. Sinus headaches normally begin from the eyes and slowly move in the direction of your temple. 11. For more serious cases, sinus headache symptoms include blurred vision. 12. You could feel pain get worse when you blow your nose. 13. Cardiovascular work-outs cause your headache to worsen. With knowledge on sinus headache symptoms, you could move on to treat your sinus headache if the above symptoms matches with what you’re currently experiencing. Whenever such symptoms arise, breathe in moist air to clear your sinuses and get rid of your headache. You could also give nasal steam a try, by wither using a nasal steamer or by boiling water in a pot while breathing in the steam. Remember to cover your head with a towel if you’re using a pot to produce steam. You could take a hot shower a couple of times to relieve your headache. Hot and spicy soups could help you to clear your clogged sinuses. Alternatively, apply hot and cold compress. Similarly to the symptoms of stress headaches, if your symptoms of sinus headache persist for a period of time, even after trying out these treatments, you should not hesitate to approach your physician or doctor. |
